Tub Surround – Tiling
TD Structural Engineering – Home Addition
In 2014 we made the leap and built a home addition creating the perfect work place for TD Structural Engineering.
Alternative Remodeling Solutions
Our latest project took a little different route from the typical gut and remodel. We were able to salvage the ’70’s vintage tub using the Miracle Method resurfacing process. This was the perfect solution for this particular project for several reasons.
We knew from other homes in the neighborhood that replacing the tub was going to be a MAJOR endeavor. Due to the original construction if the tub were to be replaced, we would need to flip the orientation 180 degrees due to obstructions below (the houses main supply and return ductwork) which did not allow access to the waste and overflow piping. Flipping the tub would also require removal of the ceiling below to gain access to piping. Either way, a time-consuming and costly endeavor.
With the decision made to leave the tub in place we also helped keep a significant amount of waste out of the landfill. A never-ending problem in the construction industry and anytime we can recycle without sacrificing the end product we consider it a win-win.
Everyone was happy with the choice to resurface vs replace, something you may want to consider for YOUR next project.
Aging-In-Place
Makes you feel pretty good when you can make simple changes allowing someone to stay in their home. Replaced a standard tub with a low threshold shower with built-in seat.
Budget Bathroom Remodel
Sometimes budgets don’t allow for a total gut but with a minimal investment and a bit of TLC our spaces can appear clean and new again!
Winter Park Condo
We recently finished up a little project near Winter Park, CO. We didn’t have the budget for a complete tear out but with some flooring upgrades, new laminate for the counter-tops and fresh appliances we definitely have a great looking new space!
Dust Mitigation
I pretty much love doing what I do, creating new spaces or giving new life to old ones. Unfortunately, I really don’t love the dust and mess that is inherent to the construction industry. So, I’m very excited to have recently added a HEPAair scrubber to my collection of tools. I’ve been running a HEPA dust extractor for some time, but that’s only good for point of use capture of dust/debris. The air scrubber will monitor particulate matter and run as needed helping keep a clean site.
