I have worked with a lot of contractors, and I do not think that I’ve ever worked with one that is as caring and easy to work with as Matt. He answered all my questions and patiently coached me through preparing for the renovation on my basement. Had great communication and kept me updated, always picked up the phone and went way above and beyond and helping with some of the other issues around the house, even though that’s not what he was there for. I would work with him again in a second and highly recommend him.

The renovations that Matt and crew did on my house were extensive. I live in an old house in Old Town and the changes began because I needed to be able to get into the partial basement with reduced danger. Absolutely nothing about the house was regular or predictable, and being an old house, nothing was much was square or level. In addition, to do almost anything, something else had to be modified or moved first. What seemed pretty straight forward was always rather difficult to execute. Matt is very concerned about detail, and I appreciate that very much. To the extent possible, everything is square, level, and lined up. We communicated about the process from the beginning. In addition, he is as concerned about me, the homeowner, as if it were his house. The end result is beautiful. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Matt completed a full basement renovation for us, and we could not be happier! We hired Matt as our General Contractor for our recently completed 500 square foot “tiny home” addition on our house, which is featured on his website. Matt from Detailed Building Solutions was everything that we had hoped for and more for our bathroom remodel. Going into a remodel with so many unknown contractors and handymen is intimidating and a little scary. We had put it off for years because of a past experience with an unknown handyman and lack of word-of-mouth recommendations on anyone. Fortunately we found Matt and it was clear that he would be easy to work with, knew what he was talking about, and was truly honest (increasingly uncommon these days). We discussed all of the details upfront, he made recommendations, provided an accurate estimate for the project, and helped us achieve what we put off for years. He not only knows how to get the job completed, but also has a good grasp on style and color helping us pull off our project better than planned. His honesty showed through on many occasions in making recommendations on work that would be done more economically either using other professionals he recommended or alternative products that would also mean less of a profit on his part. Matt was also very considerate in working into our schedule and maintaining an immaculate working area. He also has an amazing workshop on wheels that enables him to do anything and everything with minimal impact on your personal space while he’s doing his work. I asked Matt Dworak with Detailed Solutions to help me with a rental property remodel I was working on the summer of 2016. I asked for his help on several pieces of the project. He helped me get rid of an old solar heating system that I had a vengeance with, remodel and modernized a 1970’s era bathroom that easily could have been a set piece on the “Brady Bunch” sitcom. As well, he was able to tile the front entrance mud room, and the thing that impressed me the most was a railing system he put in for me on the bi-level house. I gave him a picture and a general concept of what I was after, and he was able to customize exactly what I was looking for. He is one of those “master of all trades” type guys, but his Carpentry and Finish Carpentry work is reminiscent of Bob Vila.
I had to listen to a lot of Dave Ramsey podcasts and country music while he worked, but other than that, he was easy to work with, fair priced, and really helped me out. As the value of the property increased more than 40k from the estimate prior to the remodel.

DBS was the general contractor on our basement finish project. We had 890 sqft finished to include a full bath, bedroom, mechanical room, under-stair storage, and a family room complete with a wet bar. Solid craftsmanship throughout the project to include the subs for plumbing, electrical, and drywall. DBS keeps a clean work area, was on-time and attentive, and truly cared about our project. A number of homes in our neighborhood were doing basement finishes this summer and our project finished weeks-to-months sooner. Cost-to-craftsmanship ratio is superb. Highly recommend DBS.

We had Matt help us with a bathroom remodel where he installed new backer board and tiling, as well as did electrical and plumbing that was needed. We cannot say enough amazing things about Matt and his work. He was always on time, was considerate and thoughtful of our time and space and his work is almost perfect, if there is such a thing! In addition, he helped us problem solve with what we were doing alongside him. He also identified a potential disaster and realized our sprinkler system has not been properly blown out for the winter. If he would not have found this & said something, we could have had thousands of dollars in damage with frozen pipes. If there was something he did not know or was unsure about, he made sure to research in his ‘spare’ time to make sure it was done properly. He’s been working on our project for about a week and a half and is soon to be finished; we are actually going to miss having him around as he is an overall genuinely good guy.
